Review: Sonic 1

First of all I would like to thank Mark for posting the deal back on the October 7. So if you are a frequent reader her at Mobile Tech Talk you will be aware of an app deal that was going on a while ago with the original Sonic, (Find it here – https://www.mobiletechtalk.co.uk/bargain-alert-sonic-the-hedgehog/). Boy was I impressed. For the review I tried it on the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7.

Lets start with animations, wow they are they smooth. Take the loading animation for example they are smooth and they fell really retro (As shown below). The game also runs with no lag what so ever.

Please note that the music you hear is for reference only and it is NOT the actual music used in the game.

The controls are also really simple, with just to two on screen thumb sticks. One on the right for moving left to right and to jump. Pretty simple but yet so effective. According to the Play Store it claims that it supports a wide array of controls. “Sonic The Hedgehog on Android offers exclusive support for the Power A Moga, Nyko, XBOX, and all HID controllers”. I haven’t yet checked for any support but I am certainly planning to certainly test out for myself.

Controls

The two thumbsticks. The one on the right controls slide them left to right and slide down to get the spinning Sonic. On the left just a touch to make him jump.

So lets ask the all important question: Is it worth it? Simple answer yes. At 10p when i picked it up it was a steal but since its been a while since I purchased it, the price has gone back up to its original £2.33 price tag it is still 100% worth it. So like Mark said, Now say it with us… “SEEEEEGGGGGAAAAAAAAA”
