Huawei suffered a large blow to its worldwide strategy after the US ban, but the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) platform brought in by the conglomerate is part of its strategy to overcome the restrictions. Huawei recently announced the Petal Search tool in order to make it easier for HMS device owners to “seamlessly find the apps, content and news they were looking for”.
The Petal Search tool has been designed by Huawei and is powered by its third-party search partners and allows users easier access to a million applications alongside more control of what and how users download onto their devices.
Petal Search is available in the form of a widget that can be placed on your desktop to make it easy for you to search for new apps to your heart’s content!
This is just a few of the features offered by the Petal Search tool
- App recommendations & searches
- Daily weather forecasts and top news
- Live sports scores and schedules
- Video, image and music searches
- Financial news and stock market updates
- Security protection
- Searching hotels worldwide and book rooms
- Check flights and travel information
- Look up local services and business
The tool offers many features that are already offered by the Google Assistant on devices with Google Mobile Services (GMS) but now owners of devices such as the Huawei P40 Series and Honor 30 Series will now be able to get native support for a more fully-featured experience similar to what they have traditionally come to expect from devices running Android with GMS.
