OPPO Reno Devices Announced

It’s flagship phone release time again folks, and this time it’s the turn of OPPO to show what they have in their back pocket. The OPPO Reno delivers a sleek design, 10x zoom capabilities and a pop-up selfie camera to boot.

The OPPO Reno launch has been leaked/marketed for some time now and the reason there is a lot of interest in it, aside from the “shiny shiny new new” factor of a new phone, is that it usually gives some clues to the forthcoming OnePlus releases that inevitably follow.

So what do OPPO give us with the Reno lineup? First up, there are two devices; the OPPO Reno and the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition, with the latter aiming squarely at what is quickly becoming a 2019 staple, the 10x hybrid zoom feature. You can also expect a Snapdragon 855 SoC on the 10x Zoom Edition with a Snapdragon 710 chip on the standard variant, a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED notchless display on the 10x Zoom Edition with a slightly smaller 6.4-inch display on the standard Reno device. Both will debut with an in-display fingerprint scanner and 6GB/8GB of RAM in 128GB and 256GB variants.

The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition (catchy name) will boast a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, a 13MP f/3.0 ‘periscope’ camera capable of delivering that 10x zooming ability, along with an 8MP f/2.2 wide-angle camera.

Selfies look like they will get more fun to take now too with a ‘shark fin’ design popping up the 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter, capable of an almost 80-degree field of view.
