Samsung finally released its first ‘Made for Samsung’ app

‘Made for Samsung’ was announced quite a while ago, after which it went into a period of silence, some may wonder what has happened to the exclusive software initiative. There’s no need to wonder about it anymore as Samsung just teamed up with The Weather Channel to bring you an app specifically made for Samsung devices.

The app is named: ‘The Weather Channel for Samsung’, and you could find it in Samsung’s Galaxy Apps store. Do note that the app is currently only available for the Samsung Galaxy S7, S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5, which is a pretty small selection of Galaxy phones.

The Weather Channel app made together with Samsung includes some interesting features, including the feature ‘Smart Weather’ which adjusts your alarms if the app thinks you’ll need more time to prepare for bad weather. The app also offers details about the wind, humidity, pressure and UV index. Of course the app can also show daily weather forecasts. Galaxy handsets featuring an edge will benefit from edge alerts, which show real time weather changes. One thing to take into account is that the app is dotted with ads.

Made for Samsung, and you

Don’t own one of the aforementioned handsets but you do own a Samsung device? Or you own a smartphone from another brand altogether – then you’ll always be able to install the APK from here. I need to mention that it is possible that Samsung may not support your region as the distribution of this app is region-specific.
